Wadi Rum
This desert valley is another spectacular place in the South of Jordan. It earns its uniqueness from its dramatic sandstone and basalt mountains. Spectacular rock formations and rock art, and of course, a unique night sky. Little wonder it is called the Valley of the Moon. One thing to be sure of is that this is a fantastic experience whether you are passionate about nature, culture, history or adventure.
Activities like hiking, camel riding, sleeping in a bubble tent under the desert stars, rock climbing and riding hot air balloons are available and recommended. You cannot go wrong with any of these!
Dead Sea
The Dead Sea is not actually a sea, but a salty lake whose shores are the lowest point on earth. It is easily one of the best and most relaxing places to go if you are ever in Jordan. Floating in the Dead Sea and a Dead Sea mud bath are at the top of the list of things to do in Jordan! Not only are these activities exciting, but there are also health benefits. The minerals in the water and mud have some healing properties. And, they work wonders for the skin and hair, cleanses the body of toxins and gives an energy boost.

Jerash
This beautifully preserved city is located in the North of Jordan. It is mostly known for its ruins from the first century AD when it was under Roman rule. This rule greatly influenced the architecture of Jerash and almost feels like a mini-Rome. You can find sights like Hadrians Arch and the Temple of Artemis. The city is quite easy to explore and apart from the archaeological attractions, is a very quiet farming city. A day trip should be sufficient to experience Jerash.
Wadi Mujib
One of my favorite outdoor activities in Jordan!
If you are ready for a canyoning adventure, Wadi Mujib is the place to go! The impressive river canyon is over 500m deep and 4km broad at the top. Which earns it the fond reference of the Grand Canyon of Jordan. The area is only accessible for hiking certain periods of the year.
