After living in Bali for over seven years, practicing yoga for more than five, and teaching for the last three, I genuinely think Bali is one of the best places in the world for yoga—probably second only to India.
What makes Bali such a special place for yoga is the accessibility.
There are incredible teachers, beautiful studios, packed class schedules, and every style of yoga you can think of spread all across the island. Plus, a regular drop-in class is super affordable!
I’m putting together this guide to share the best yoga studios in Canggu based on my own personal experience living, practicing, and teaching yoga in Bali over the years.
Whether you’re completely new to yoga or already have a strong practice, there are so many amazing places here to explore.
Best traditional shala: Guan Yin Yoga Shala
Best for Ashtanga: UBUNTU
Best affordable option: Serenity
Best wellness experience: Udara Bali
Best for advanced practitioners: Mission Flow
Guan Yin Yoga Shala

Let’s start with this little heaven right in the heart of Canggu. Even though the area outside is usually very busy with people, shops, cafes, the moment you step inside Guan Yin Yoga Shala, everything becomes quiet.
It’s surrounded by beautiful gardens, open air, and transports you to a place of tranquility.
The shala is inside Hotel Tugu, the oldest hotel in Canggu, built around a 300-year-old temple. You can really feel that influence in the space, from the traditional wood carvings to the authentic Balinese design details.
They offer a variety of classes, from Yin and Hatha, to dynamic Vinyasa flows and Ashtanga.
Classes here aren’t typically overcrowded, and the shala is super spacious, so you actually have space to move and breathe. The space is truly beautiful, wooden, natural, with fresh air flowing through, which honestly makes a huge difference with Bali’s weather.
After class, you can easily walk to the beach, or if you want to grab something to eat, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.
Mission Flow

Mission Flow is one of the newest yoga studios in Canggu and has quickly become one of the most popular places to practice, largely because they have some of the best local and international teachers in Bali.
I personally practice here a lot, and it’s one of my favorite studios on the island.
They have a huge schedule with everything from beginner-friendly classes to Ashtanga, inversion workshops, backbend classes, and strong Vinyasa flows.
The studio itself has two separate rooms to practice and a very modern, clean setup.
A lot of advanced practitioners come here as they offer really good, strong intermediate classes. A favorite is Astora.
I also recommend Bernd, a very recognized teacher in Bali known for his slower but still strong vinyasa classes that incorporate philosophy and storytelling throughout the practice.
One thing to know is that some popular classes can get completely packed, so it’s worth checking the schedule and booking ahead online.
Chandra Yoga

This yoga shala is hidden inside a guest house near the river and surrounded by gardens and rice field views.
It has a very authentic Balinese feeling to it. The shala itself is completely open-air, with wooden pillars overlooking the rice fields, so you can hear the river, birds, and crickets around you. It’s a very peaceful space to practice.
All of the teachers here are local, and they offer a really nice variety of classes throughout the day, from Yin Yoga and stretching classes to sunrise flows and Vinyasa. They also have more restorative and healing-focused offerings, including sound healing sessions.
One small detail I really love is that during Savasana they bring you a cold towel with essential oils.
UBUNTU

Ubuntu is more than just a yoga studio, it’s also an eco-focused co-living and retreat space surrounded by colorful nature.
The space includes two different shalas to practice yoga: a large open-air yoga shala and a smaller, more enclosed studio, plus a plant based organic cafe, and eco-friendly bungalow rooms for longer stays.
The founders, Andrea and Damien, are lifelong dedicated yogis and long-time Ashtanga practitioners who teach Mysore here. If you practice Ashtanga or are specifically looking for a strong Mysore program, this is definitely one of the places I’d recommend checking out in Bali.
They also offer other styles of classes like Vinyasa, gentle flows, meditation, workshops, and other more holistic wellness-focused classes.
SAMADI

Samadi is one of the long-standing yoga spaces in Canggu.
It’s surrounded by wood, little garden areas, and open spaces, the whole place has a very relaxed Bali feel to it rather than a polished modern studio. There are usually cats, dogs, and even geese casually wandering around.
They have a very solid schedule, great teachers, and a strong community around them, which is why they’ve remained popular for so long.
Here you can find everything from traditional Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Hatha to inversion workshops, restorative classes, and even aerial yoga, which not many studios in Canggu offer. They also host different wellness events and workshops throughout the month.
I used to practice here a lot, and one of my long-term teachers, Vivienne Zeng, still teaches there. I highly recommend her classes if you enjoy stronger, more advanced practices.
They also have rooms for rentals, a pool, an organic vegetarian café, spa, and every Sunday they host their well-known Sunday Market with local vendors, live music, and a really nice community atmosphere.
Serenity

Serenity is another one of the long-standing yoga spots in Canggu that has been around for many years.
It’s located near Echo Beach, just a short walk from the beach itself, with lots of cafés and restaurants around the area.
At the top they have two different shalas and a big daily schedule with classes running from 7:30am until 7pm, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Chakra classes, aerial yoga, and more.
Their classes are also very affordable compared to other studios in Canggu.
They also have rooms, a pool, a vegetarian restaurant, garden spaces, and a very natural bamboo-style design that gives the whole place a rustic feeling.
Diaz creative vinyasa is a very popular class!
The Path

The Path has a mix of classes that goes from more active practices like Vinyasa, power flows, and Hatha to more wellness-focused sessions like breathwork, meditation, and somatic workshops. There’s really a bit of everything depending on the kind of practice you’re looking for.
They have two different spaces to practice in: one open-air shala and one enclosed studio with air conditioning, which honestly feels amazing on hot Bali days.
The space itself feels a bit more modern than some other studios in Canggu, but it still keeps that Bali essence to it.
They also have a small shop with yoga clothing and accessories, plus a beautiful recovery area with a sauna, hot plunge, and cold plunge.
Pranava Yoga

Pranava Yoga is located right in the middle of hustle and bustle of cafés, shops, and traffic outside. But once you walk inside, you’re transported into a green paradise surrounded by rice fields and jungle.
The shala is built in a traditional Balinese style, with a pretty large open-air space surrounded by nature that offers a quiet atmosphere.
The classes are led by Indonesian teachers, and the schedule is mostly focused on physical practices like Vinyasa, creative flows, Hatha, and aerial yoga, plus some more restorative classes like Yin.
You can also find Diaz’s popular creative Vinyasa class here on a weekly basis.
The shala is part of a bigger space that also includes a guest house, co-working space, vegan café, and surf camp.
All classes are drop-in, so there’s no need to book ahead, and the prices are very reasonable.
Udara Bali

Udara Bali is an adults-only wellness resort located beachfront in Seseh, Canggu.
It’s a much bigger wellness space than a regular yoga studio and includes four beautiful yoga shalas, three with ocean views and one facing ancient Balinese temples.
They offer a mix of yoga and spiritual practices, from daily Vinyasa, Hatha, and aerial yoga classes to meditation, light and sound healing, and even water yoga. They also run detox and retreat programs throughout the year.
You can also do recovery at their beautiful spa area with healing pools, sauna, herbal steam room, jacuzzi, ice plunges, and even a meditation cave.
Every Sunday they also host the Udara Sunday Festival, which has been going on for years and is very popular around Bali. It usually includes yoga, breathwork, and ecstatic dance.
ADDA Yoga

Last yoga spot is ADDA Yoga, which is located on the rooftop level above a co-working space, restaurant, and guest house.
It’s a bit different from the typical setup you find in most Bali yoga studios. It’s built on the second floor and it’s a bit narrow, but, you can catch really nice sunset views from up there.
Their range of yoga classes is wide, offering still and calm styles like Yin and Restorative Yoga to traditional and more athletic challenging lineages like Power Vinyasa and Hatha.
The schedule stays pretty active, so it works well whether you’re looking for a stronger physical practice or something more focused on mindfulness and consciousness.
